Gays: Lady Gaga. We LOVED her…Remember? “Applause” please.

Lady Gaga 2008

Lady Gaga 2008

First off…I’m not here to judge music. No one can do that. That’s why I hate the Grammy’s. How do you decide what the BEST SONG is? That’s like voting on Penis of the year. Some are good for different reasons. Others you never want to see again.

“Just Dance” we ALL loved that when it came out. That was the hit of the summer of 2000 something. We don’t do much research on this blog. We meaning me.

Then she KEPT COMING OUT WITH HITS!

FAME

PAPARAZZI

BEAUTIFUL DIRTY RICH

BOYS BOYS BOYS

oh AND

POKER FACE….All VERY poppy songs. WE LLLLOVVVVEEDDD HER then.

“Such innovation” all of us thought.

THen she KEPT GOING…not even a year later…she releases ANOTHER album. Fame monster:

BAD ROMANCE (couludn’t get enough of),

ALEJANDRO

MONSTER

SPEECHLESS

DANCING IN THE DARK

So many more…It was about a total of 17 hits in a YEAR. Most of which were written, and produced by HER. Frankly, we could listen to ANY song on those two albums and LOVE them.

Hmmm Let me think….that sounds pretty awesome. I’d say that’s some F’in talent. We all agreed on this a while ago. Not sure what happened….

Then we wait for the next album….”Gaga!!…it’s been two months?? Where is the next one??? Finally, after an excruciating one and half years. She comes out with my favorite Album:  Born this Way. Ok The first single was a little kitchy. OH and it KIND of sounded like, Madonna’s “Express Yourself”. Thanks to the internet…this astute observation made it’s way around the internet in 32 minutes.

I’m sure when Lady Gaga writes her songs she’s listening to Madonna and patching it through her Gagalator to shit out a song…hoping no one will notice. I’m sure this was done ENTIRELY on purpose. Wow. ONE SONG out of 40 in three years that KIND of sounds like another song. We should ALL turn on her now.

This album was truly one of my favorite Albums ever. I could have done without “Born this Way” And “Judas”. But no one, no one, can tell me, the unoriginality of “Scheibe”, “Government Hooker”, “Americano’ and so many more. If you have not listened to these and you are still judging Gaga. Stop what you’re doing and download them. They are genius tracks that don’t come CLOSE to anything else ever done. Even if you don’t care for them you can respect them.

Then….this new Album “Artpop”.

IT HASN’T EVEN BEEN RELEASED YET. And we’re ALL TALKING SHI*. As we gays do.

“Applause” comes out. And because WE ONCE loved Gaga so much. We expect a lot out of her. If this was Sheryl Crow coming out with this song we would have had to buy new underwear. But it’s LADY GAGA…so if 20 people on our Twitter Feed don’t love it….we sure as hell won’t love it either.

I love it. And I’m happy with it.

It’s not great. But I love Gaga….So I love it.  It’s made the gym mix.

But please don’t compare it to Katy Perry’s “Roar”. I like this song too. But really “Roar” -‘eye of a tiger’ ‘fighting flame’ ‘I’m a champion’. REALLY? REALLY? Did she buy the book “Cheesy 80’s Lyrics” and just point and throw them in her song?

For some reason…this Artist we once loved. Who puts herself out there like NO ONE ELSE DOES. Who takes chances….that NO ONE ELSE DOES. We all of a sudden want to hate. If she wasn’t so good, if she wasn’t so great, if she didn’t put herself out there that much. We wouldn’t care.

Gays…we used to love Lady Gaga. I get it. It’s like your job. When someone is REALLY good…the minute they do something wrong…we all focus on it.

Lady Gaga…has come out with some awesome music. No one can dispute that. As artists do…as people do…not everything will be perfect.

  2. Fame was the only good album. It blew up bc we loved it, not this “Applause” bullshit. The “look how weird I am” gimmick is old and tired. If you’re going to do that, at least come out with GOOD music.
